Mr. Xinghong Hua joined Cerberus Capital Management LP in March 2008, as Managing Director of Cerberus Asia, as well as head of Beijing office. Cerberus Capital Management is a leading global investment firm with US $24 billion under management.
Prior to joining Cerberus, Mr. Hua was Vice President of Alcoa Asia Pacific, responsible for leading Alcoa’s M&A activities, business development and strategic analysis in the region, and successfully completed a number of major acquisitions and investment projects in China. Prior to that, Mr. Hua served for many years in the United States, holding management positions at a major oil company and at an international energy consulting firm, as well as at the headquarters of Bank of China in Beijing.
Mr. Hua graduated with the highest honor from Beijing University, with Bachelor & Master of Law degrees, and from the Johns Hopkins University’s School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) in Washington DC, with a master degree in International Economics and International Energy & Environment He serves on the Board of Teach For China, the first and only non-profit organization to pair outstanding graduates from top universities in the US and China sponsoring them to teach at rural elementary schools in China, with a mission to eliminate educational inequity.
